The most noticeable project currently taking place is the exterior construction going on behind The Lodge parking structure. The construction (shown below) will be an expansion of Williams-Sonoma. The current store is located on the second floor at Bellevue Square.
Not much has been noticeably taken place in the interior at Bellevue Square, but the first sign of change has appeared. The green (ugly) railing in one section on the second floor has been replaced to very nice natural looking wood (pictured below). Along with the railing, the ceiling has signs of construction and being somewhat dismantled. Look for an improvement in the ceiling soon.

Ya, if I walk on that blasted tile just one more time, I might explode! Seriously, who walks on tile in 2007? This is Bellevue, we don't like your grimy tile, so replace it NOW! Or else....
Not only will that be expanded space for Williams-Sonoma, but also for Pottery Barn and Banana Republic.
Also, for the remodel, they have been working on redoing the ceiling (in the same area that they replaced the ugly green railing) and I'm almost positive the floors are going to be redone. :)
And to note, on that third picture thats what each crossing will look like and on the opposite side is what the sides (non crossings) will look like throughout the second floor.
Oh my God, tile in 2007?!?! Whatever will I do? It's just something I frickin WALK ON. What the hell has happened to Seattle where we have idiots like this?
If I wanted 1980's tile I would go to Southcenter....
You could get away with tile in 2006, but come on, this is 2007 people! I will flat out refuse to go to BellSquare if they retain the tile. I just won't have it. This is Bellevue, we deserve better!

Can we ship all this tile to poor folks in Renton? Make THEM walk on it perhaps!
The edition along the NE garage was originally called the Pottery Barn Addition when it was first proposed several years ago. It is quite an undertaking.
I can't wait to see the finished product for the interior renovation. The existing was exciting when it was done in 80-84, but it is now tired and utilitarian. At least the original products really stood up to the use. It may look dated, but it still looks almost new.

What happened when we have idiots in Seattle that complain about others disliking ugly tile from the early 80's? The tile stinks, it does not match with what Bellevue is becoming. If you don't like progress, maybe you shouldn't be reading a blog devoted to it!
I do believe in progress...I love Bellevue and I live in a condo downtown. Are you kidding me...Why wouldn't I want Bellevue to be the next big thing! Lets face it though, there are still a lot of high maintenance people that live in Bellevue and complain about EVERYTHING. That's why I was on a flight last week and someone asked me where I was from...when I said "Belleve," they were like, "Oh, you're one of those..." They were from Seattle.
As someone who has lived in the city, (Seattle), on the eastside, (the Plateau), and Renton, I cannot believe anyone is making such a big deal out of tile. I'm sure they will do a fine job on the remodel. Oh, and by the way, the people in Renton don't need your tile. Their mall is being completely redone and opening in the summer. They have new floors thanks.
