Restaurants Delayed in Downtown Bellevue

The highly anticipated restaurants Blue C Sushi and Boom Noodle, which will occupy space side by side on Bellevue Way within The Lodge at Bellevue Square, were originally slated to open in November and will now be pushed back until mid February.

Additionally, Purple Café at Bellevue Towers, which was originally anticipated for a November opening, will also delay their occupancy into the first half of 2009.  Purple Café’s owners will also open 2 new concept restaurants, Barrio and Bliss, at the base of Bellevue Towers. They are expected to open along the same timeline.

I've also heard that the creators of Allure have pulled out of Washington Square. =(

I am suprised at Blue C, but not at the Bellevue Tower Locations. The sidewalk in front of them is not even open, it's been closed for what two years now?

Monsoon's website has changed from "Opening November 2008" to "Opening December 2008". And it doesn't seem like Paddy Coyne's in Lincoln Square is on track to open this month.

Thanks for the info Michael - do you think these are really just delays or are overall plans being re-thought?

I think the Purple Cafe project has to due with a tad bit late construction by a month or so.

I'm not sure about the Blue C Sushi and Boom Noodle news, I can't imagine it's too flexible once you've signed a lease.

Q: Why aren't these restaurants open?
A: City of Bellevue Building Inspectors.

Your City makes this the riskiest, most expensive place in the State of Washington to open a business. These restaurants (local businesses) are losing hundreds of thousands of dollars because of the incompetence of the City Staff. E-mail the City Manager and tell him to fire some people.
